This is what Abi Rum asked from the Minister of Finance

Representative Simon Abi Raria directed an official book to the Minister of Finance, Yassin Jaber, in which he demanded the extension of the deadlines or the abolition of real estate fees for the transactions stuck in the secretariats of the real estate registry for 2021 and 2022.
The media office indicated that the request comes in light of the exceptional circumstances that the real estate departments witnessed, especially in the Mount Lebanon Governorate, where they remained closed from late 2022 to March 2024, which prevented citizens from being able to complete their transactions or pay the fees within the specified deadlines. Abi Rum explained that many citizens expressed their fear of losing their rights as a result of the long closure, stressing that the extension of the deadlines or abolition Fees guarantee justice and equality between citizens and protect their rights, while maintaining the revenues of the public treasury in a fair and fair way.
