The Emirati website “Erm News” published a new report in which it highlighted the problem of overheating of Android phones, indicating that controlling this problem only requires a combination of smart use and appropriate settings, which helps maintain the device’s performance and extend battery life.
The report explained that overheating of smartphones, especially Android devices, is one of the most common problems among users, as intense use or exposure to harsh environmental conditions may lead to a noticeable increase in the device’s temperature, which negatively affects performance and battery efficiency.
He explained that there are several reasons behind the phone’s high temperature, the most important of which is running heavy applications, such as games or live streaming services for long periods, in addition to using the device while charging.
Also, leaving the phone under direct sunlight or inside hot, closed places, such as cars, contributes to increasing its temperature, as well as using non-original chargers or cables that may generate additional heat.
Also, a weak network signal leads to increased power consumption, as the phone is forced to operate at a higher capacity to maintain connectivity.
The report indicated that the phone automatically begins to activate protection measures when the temperature reaches high levels, including reducing the processor speed or temporarily disabling some functions to protect the battery and internal components, which may be reflected in slow performance or a temporary stop of some applications.
Regarding solutions, experts recommended closing unnecessary applications, disabling location services, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi when they are not needed, in addition to reducing screen brightness or activating power saving mode to reduce pressure on the processor.
The report also advised removing the phone cover when it gets hot, and placing the device in a cool, well-ventilated place away from sunlight, while avoiding cooling it inside the refrigerator, as this may cause damage resulting from moisture condensation inside the device.
He pointed out that Android phones provide built-in tools to maintain the device and improve performance, which help in closing unnecessary processes and reducing power consumption, in addition to the possibility of activating the basic performance mode, which reduces the processor speed moderately, which contributes to reducing the phone’s temperature without a significant impact on daily use.
