The Army Command affirmed its full respect for the freedom of peaceful expression of opinion, calling on citizens to exercise the highest levels of responsibility in light of the calls for anticipated demonstrations and movements in the city of Beirut and other areas, in a way that preserves security, stability and civil peace.
In a statement issued by the Directorate of Guidance, the leadership stressed that Lebanon faces exceptional challenges that require strengthening unity and solidarity among all Lebanese, with the aim of overcoming the dangers surrounding the country at this delicate stage.
The Army Command affirmed that it will not allow any disturbance of security or any violation of civil peace as a result of movements with unintended consequences. It will also not tolerate any actions that lead to blocking roads or encroaching on public and private property, stressing that it will continue to carry out its duties in maintaining security and protecting citizens within legal frameworks.
