In a post on his official account on the “X” platform, the Pope affirmed his feeling of human and spiritual closeness to the members of the Christian community in Jordan and the general Jordanian people in all its various components, praising at the same time the model of peaceful coexistence, interdependence, and mutual respect between followers of different religions in the Kingdom.
On the security level, the Jordanian Public Security Directorate announced the arrest of three of the perpetrators of the attack, after spotting them at dawn on Monday inside an abandoned house in Karak Governorate, where they were hiding.
Public Security explained that the suspects took the initiative to refuse to surrender themselves and opened fire on the security forces, which required dealing with the situation according to the rules of engagement and resulted in the three attackers being injured and arrested, without any casualties among the security forces participating in the operation.
In the official context, the Minister of Communications and official spokesman for the Jordanian government, Muhammad Al-Momani, vowed to pursue and strike with an iron hand anyone who tries to harm the country’s security and the safety of its citizens, stressing that the competent authorities will never tolerate any attempt to destabilize or threaten Jordan’s security.
