Milan achieved a valuable victory away from home at the expense of Udinese, with two unanswered goals, in the match that brought them together on Sunday evening, in the eighth round of the Italian Football League Championship.
American striker Christian Pulisic opened the scoring for Milan early in the sixth minute, benefiting from a decisive pass by Croatian Luka Modric. In the second half, Omari Hutchinson increased the guest team’s lead by scoring the second goal in the 65th minute, securing a well-deserved victory with which the team compensated for its harsh loss to English club Bournemouth by 3-0 in the European League.
The “Rossoneri” imposed its absolute advantage from the first minutes, and posed a threat through several attempts by Davide Partisaghi and Fikayo Tomori. On the other hand, French goalkeeper Mike Manian played a decisive role in keeping the clean sheet, after brilliantly repelling dangerous attempts from the hosts through Merjim Vojvoda, Jesper Carlstrom, and Hassan Kamara during the first half.
Milan continued its offensive pressure in the second half, translating its control into a second goal through Hutchinson. The remaining minutes witnessed additional attempts by both teams, most notably chances for Milan through Goncalo Ramos and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, which were blocked by Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, so Milan maintained its lead until the final whistle.
With these results, Milan raised its score to 18 points to occupy fourth place in the Italian League table, trailing on goal difference behind third-placed Roma. On the other hand, Udinese’s balance froze at 4 points in seventeenth place, following the continuation of its series of negative results.
