The Israeli army spokeswoman for the Arab media, Lieutenant Colonel Ella Wawiyeh, reviewed in her weekly report the developments in military operations on the Gaza, West Bank and Lebanon fronts, speaking about the death toll, arrests and targeting of infrastructure.
Wawiya reported, in a post on the “X” platform, that the Israeli army killed about nine Palestinians in the Gaza Strip during the week, noting that among the dead were four whom Tel Aviv accuses of participating in the attack of October 7, 2023, and working to rebuild the capabilities of the “Hamas” movement and planning attacks against its forces and Israelis.
She explained that the toll included the killing of Muhammad Abu Alwan, whom the army described as the official responsible for the financial file in Hamas, claiming that he supervised the transfer of more than one billion shekels to finance the movement’s activities and maintain its capabilities.
In the West Bank, Wawiyah indicated the arrest of dozens of wanted persons, including members of the Hamas and Fatah movements, arms dealers, in addition to people accused by the Israeli authorities of planning to carry out operations. She added that the forces confiscated quantities of weapons, including M16, Kalashnikov, and Carlo rifles, in addition to ammunition and various military equipment.
It stated that the army, under the guidance of the Shin Bet General Security Service, arrested a person suspected of carrying out a shooting operation in the Binyamin Brigade area during the “Yom Kippur” events, coinciding with extensive searches in the village of Biddu that targeted about 100 locations and included field investigations with more than 90 people.
In a related context, Wawiyah announced that the Israeli Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, decided to activate the command of the 98th Division in the West Bank and assign it to command the Yehuda and Etzion Brigades, in the wake of recent security developments in the region.
On the Lebanese front, the spokeswoman said that the Israeli army targeted several sites in southern Lebanon in response to the detonation of an explosive device, which it claimed belonged to “Hezbollah” within what Israel calls the “security zone.” According to the Israeli account, the raids targeted observation sites and infrastructure used by Hezbollah members to carry out attacks against Israeli forces.
This comes in light of the continuing field tension in southern Lebanon. On September 25, reports indicated that Israeli artillery shelling and shooting continued on the southern regions, coinciding with a relative calm during which there were no air strikes and night bombings.
At the conclusion of her presentation, Wawiyah announced the docking of the Israeli submarine “My Brother Drakon” at the Navy base in Haifa during the week, noting that it is equipped with modern technologies and will officially join the operational services of the Israeli Navy.
The Israeli army confirmed, according to the circular, its intention to continue military operations on all fronts until its goals are achieved.
