The Generator Sector Regulatory Committee in Sidon Municipality announced in a statement, “The owners of private electric generators are committed to the unified tariff for kilowatts issued by the Ministry of Energy for the month of June, which is 41,973 LBP per kilowatt hour, provided that the feeding hours from the generator are not less than 12 hours per day, and if the feeding hours from the generator exceed 17 hours, the price becomes 50,000 LBP for each kilowatt hour of feeding based on an average price of the dollar.” 89,500 LBP.

She explained, “For subscribers to meters, the fixed subscription fee is priced on the basis of 385,000 LBP for a capacity of 5 amps and 685,000 LBP for a capacity of 10 amps, and 300,000 LBP is added for each additional 5 amps.”

She stressed, “It is mandatory to issue an invoice that clearly shows the name and address of the generator owner and his phone number, the name of the subscriber, the subscription capacity, the previous meter, the current meter, the monthly expense, the price of a kilowatt, the value of the monthly consumption, the fixed subscription according to the ministry’s price and the final total without any other additions such as spacing.”

It is mandatory to issue a clear schedule of feeding hours and circulate it to subscribers.

It is mandatory to install and approve meters for all subscribers.

– If the generator owner decides to turn off his generator permanently and go out of service, he must give a period of 3 months before that. (The information and information shall be submitted in writing to the office of the Sidon Municipality or the concerned municipality).”

She stated, “Based on the agreement of the Generator Sector Regulatory Committee with the Public Prosecution of Appeal in the south, this prosecution will receive citizens’ complaints through the concerned police stations to take the necessary legal measures, provided that the committee informs the content of this statement to the Public Prosecution of Appeal in the south.”

She noted that “the Ministry of Energy and Water has drawn the attention of owners of private generators and esteemed citizens to the impermissibility of making the following additions to the guiding pricing issued by the Ministry:

1- A value-added tax that is not legally justified according to an official registration in the TVA Directorate in the Ministry of Finance.

2- Additional fees or amounts under any pretext, such as the cost of maintaining a generator, networks, etc….

3- Pricing to the consumer in foreign currency.

4- Additional fees for the citizen.”
