Gemayel launches fiery positions from Zahle: The two shipments of explosives are a red line and are not a detail

The leadership of the Lebanese Phalange Party, represented by Representative Sami Gemayel, raised the ceiling of its political positions regarding the issue of the two shipments of explosives, stressing the need not to treat the incident as a passing matter, but rather as a major turning point in the state’s strategy for dealing with the Hezbollah file and its armed arsenal.

In a tweet he posted on the “X” platform on the sidelines of his participation in a dinner party honoring the fiftieth party in the Kataeb region of Zahle, Gemayel attached pictures from the occasion, stressing that dealing with the file of the two shipments must constitute a turning point in the process of dealing with the issue of the party’s weapons.

This position comes to confirm the close connection between the issue of the two shipments of explosives and the broader political debate related to the presence of weapons outside the scope of state institutions, in conjunction with the growing voices calling for clarifying the circumstances of the entire issue and precisely identifying the parties responsible for it.

Gemayel’s statements coincide with a state of ongoing political and judicial controversy over shipments of explosives, and whether the developments will lead to more stringent steps in terms of investigations and accountability, amid escalating internal tension over the exclusivity of weapons in the hands of the state and its ability to control sensitive security files.
