The Jordanian Armed Forces thwarted, at dawn on Saturday, an attempt by three people to infiltrate through one of the Kingdom’s border fronts, in an operation carried out by the Southern Military District.
The General Command of the Armed Forces stated in an official statement that the Border Guard forces detected the infiltrators while they were trying to cross the border illegally, and dealt with them immediately in accordance with the applicable rules of engagement.
The statement confirmed that the three people were arrested and transferred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures against them.
The Jordanian Armed Forces stressed the commitment of the Border Guard Forces to perform their duties with full vigilance and determination to protect the Kingdom’s borders and preserve its sovereignty, and to decisively confront any infiltration attempts or illegal activities targeting the security and stability of the homeland.
