A joint statement issued by prosecutors in Bochum and the Criminal Investigation Office of North Rhine-Westphalia stated that inspections are being conducted in several locations in Germany, without mentioning the German Football Association.
The newspaper indicated that the German citizen, a municipal employee from the city of Gelsenkirchen, one of the cities that hosted the tournament, is suspected of obtaining tickets, travel benefits, and hotel accommodation worth $2,736.
