The Municipality of Zeta announced that one of the traffic safety equipment on the public road within its jurisdiction had been subjected to acts of vandalism and illegal removal, considering that this act represents a blatant infringement on public property and a direct threat to the safety of citizens and road users.
The municipality explained in an official statement that the attack targeted a speed bump that was specially built to limit speed at a dangerous curve near a water drainage ferry and at the entrance to a residential area. She stressed that removing the speed bump not only constitutes damage to public equipment, but also exposes the lives and property of citizens to danger and undermines efforts made to reduce traffic accidents.
In the same context, the municipality revealed that it had filed an official complaint before the competent judicial authorities against everyone proven to be involved in the incident, whether they were an actor, accomplice, instigator, or intervener, demanding that a comprehensive investigation be opened to reveal the identity of those responsible and take appropriate legal measures against them.
The municipality stressed that public property and equipment designated to serve and protect citizens belong to everyone, and it is not permissible to tamper with, remove, or destroy them outside the legal frameworks and official powers.
The municipality of Zeta confirmed that it will not be complacent in protecting the public property and preserving traffic safety, and will pursue the case before the judicial authorities until the truth is revealed and those involved are held accountable, while reserving its full right to demand compensation for material damage to public property.
The municipality concluded its statement by calling on all citizens to cooperate to protect public property and immediately report any acts of vandalism or encroachment, stressing that the safety and interests of the townspeople remain its top priorities.
