Tehran monitors Ukrainian forces near its borders, and the marches open a new front

In a security development that deepens the state of tension between Tehran and Kiev, the Iranian Tasnim News Agency, quoting a security source, announced that Ukraine has deployed specialized forces with drones in areas surrounding Iran, specifically in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Tehran considers these movements part of European and Atlantic activities hostile to it.

The security source explained, in statements he made on Tuesday, that the information related to the countries hosting these Ukrainian forces and marches remains “secret” at the present time, stressing that it will be revealed later, without providing additional details about the size of these forces, or the nature of their tasks.

In a related context, the spokesman for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Brigadier General Hussein Mohebi, raised the severity of the warnings, stressing that the Iranian forces are ready “for any eventuality,” and that any upcoming military response will be “much more severe” than previous reactions.

Mohebi warned that any American move, even if it was limited, could ignite a dangerous global energy crisis, hinting that the Revolutionary Guards possess “surprises” that have not been revealed if the scope of the confrontation expands.

On the military level, the spokesman announced that Iran’s ability to produce missiles and drones has doubled by at least 50% compared to previous periods. He pointed out that Tehran continued to develop its arsenal by increasing the range, accuracy and destructive capacity of missiles and drones, as well as introducing new weapons into service.

These developments come in light of the escalation of tension between Iran and the United States and its allies, coinciding with the ongoing war in Ukraine and the close partnership between Tehran and Moscow, which made the drone issue one of the most sensitive issues in bilateral relations between Iran and Ukraine in recent years.

It is noteworthy that the Iranian reports did not provide public evidence proving the validity of the deployment of specialized Ukrainian forces near the Iranian border, nor was there any independent confirmation of these allegations from other parties, which keeps them within the scope of the accusations attributed to the security source until new data emerges.
