A bet on political return in Bangladesh

As the legislative elections scheduled for next February approach, Hasina called on social media to demonstrate on the bases of her party, the Awami League, in an attempt to put pressure on the interim government of Muhammad Yunus and not extradite it from India, despite the memorandums of understanding between the two countries.

Although these moves are unlikely to change the political landscape or overthrow the interim government, Hasina seeks to exploit regional variables, including tensions between India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, to strengthen her position and her party in the upcoming electoral race, and to ensure influence in future decisions within Bangladesh.
