The Bank of Lebanon announced, in an official statement, the appointment of Dr. Nassib Ghobril to the position of Chief Economist, in a step aimed at strengthening the institution’s ability to formulate its policies based on in-depth economic research and integrated analyzes of data. The creation of this position constitutes a qualitative addition to the bank’s structure, consolidating the role of economic expertise in the decision-making process.
Dr. Gabriel brings with him to this site a wealth of experience spanning more than twenty-five years in monitoring the Lebanese economy and analyzing its paths, in addition to his extensive experience in the fields of economic and financial research, and establishing and managing research teams, thus joining an elite group of experts specialized in the various sectors of the bank.
Within the framework of his new duties, Dr. Gabriel will assume the management of the Department of Economic Research and Analysis and work to develop it, in addition to enhancing its presence in preparing specialized studies and strategic analyses, and issuing periodic reports, whether quarterly or annual.
