The Ministry of Labor called on employers and stakeholders to submit applications for issuing or renewing work permits no less than one month before the expiry date of the residency issued by the General Directorate of Public Security, in order to ensure that transactions are completed within the approved deadlines.
In an official circular issued today, the Minister of Labor, Muhammad Haider, confirmed that the responsibility for adhering to the specified deadlines lies exclusively with the concerned party, stressing that the Ministry will not bear any financial burdens or additional fees that may result from delays in submitting applications.
The circular clarified that the one-month deadline has an indicative nature aimed at facilitating the completion of transactions, stressing that it does not constitute an amendment to the applicable legal or regulatory deadlines, and does not exempt those concerned from adhering to the terms and conditions imposed under applicable laws and decisions.
This step comes in light of the direct link between the validity of work permits and official residency, as early submission allows the competent authorities sufficient scope to process transactions, and spares those concerned from the financial and administrative consequences resulting from the delay.
