The Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, confirmed that the Ministry adhered to the book of conditions in the awarding process for the rehabilitation of Dahr El-Baydar Road, with the aim of producing results that reflect the quality of roads in accordance with international standards.
In a statement to the “Lebanon Debate” website on the sidelines of the opening of the rehabilitation works, Rasamny explained that the Ministry’s role is not limited to awarding projects only, but also extends to following up on and supervising their implementation, and seeking the necessary technical consultations to ensure that the works conform to the specified conditions and specifications.
He pointed out that the Ministry carefully follows up on various project details, including handling accidents, water drainage, lighting, and other safety requirements, stressing that the primary goal is to ensure that the work is completed according to the established conditions.
Regarding traffic safety during the implementation period and its impact on traffic, especially with the approaching winter, Rasamny pointed out that there is close coordination between the ministry, the security forces, and the contractor, especially in times that require closing the road or adopting alternative routes.
He concluded by explaining that organizing traffic and related procedures fall within the powers of the security forces, with continued joint coordination to ensure effective traffic management in conjunction with the progress of works.
