Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli, a professional for Al Hilal Saudi Club, has reserved his place among the most valuable players outside the major European leagues, after he ranked third in the classification recently issued by the International Center for Sports Studies (SES).
The latest report issued by the CES Football Observatory, which determines the estimated transfer value of players in 55 competitions outside the five major European leagues, showed that Danish Victor Froholt, the Portuguese Porto player, topped the list with a market value of 83.7 million euros.
The Greek Vangelis Pavlidis, Benfica striker, came in second place with a value of 65 million euros, followed by Martinelli in third place with a value of 63.6 million euros, making the Al Hilal player the only Saudi League representative among the top three in an indicator that reflects the strong presence of the Saudi competition globally.
In the rest of the top five places, Uruguayan Luis Suarez, the Sporting Lisbon striker, ranked fourth with a value of 62.9 million euros, while Nicolo Trisoldi, the Belgian Club Brugge player, came in fifth place with a value of 61.4 million euros.
This advanced classification for Martinelli comes after he joined the ranks of Al Hilal during the current summer transfer period, coming from Arsenal, England, in a major deal amounting to about 70 million euros, proving his presence as one of the most prominent names attracted by Saudi clubs in the international arena.
