After the humiliating exit from the World Cup, the police raid the headquarters of the German Federation

The German newspaper Bild said on Wednesday that investigators have launched nationwide inspections, including the offices of the local Football Association, as part of an investigation into suspected violations related to tickets and hospitality services at the 2024 European Championship.

The newspaper reported that the raids came in response to investigations that included a German citizen and a French citizen, among others.

A joint statement issued by prosecutors in Bochum and the Criminal Investigation Office of North Rhine-Westphalia stated that inspections are being conducted in several locations in Germany, without mentioning the German Football Association.

Bild explained that the case concerns invitations to stay in hotels, and several thousand tickets that may have been illegally allocated to favored guests before the 2024 European Championship, which was held in 10 German cities.

The newspaper indicated that the German citizen, a municipal employee from the city of Gelsenkirchen, one of the cities that hosted the tournament, is suspected of obtaining tickets, travel benefits, and hotel accommodation worth $2,736.

The statement also said that the investigation related to “unauthorized benefits, including attendance at an international football match.” (Arabic)
