A resounding fall for Manchester City against Brighton in their home, inflicting their second consecutive defeat in the league.

Manchester City suffered a new loss in the English Premier League after losing at home to Brighton with a clean goal, on Saturday, in the ninth round matches, which deprived it of the opportunity to strengthen its lead in the standings.

The only goal of the match came from Yacine Ayari in the 11th minute at Al-Ittihad Stadium, giving his team match points and football revenge after last Wednesday’s elimination from the League Cup by City on penalties.

This is the second defeat in a row for the men of Italian coach Enzo Maresca in the local competition, after the previous stumble against Aston Villa with a score of 1-2, and the third for the team during the month of October, in addition to the European loss to Paris Saint-Germain 2-4 in the Champions League.

With this result, Manchester City’s score stopped at 21 points, maintaining the lead on goal difference only over defending champion Arsenal, who is awaiting a strong confrontation away from home against Liverpool on Sunday.

On the other hand, Brighton raised its score to 19 points, achieving its sixth victory in the tournament, advancing to third place and reducing the gap at the top of the standings to only two points.
