A huge Chinese deal for Barcelona in response to the Mbappe crisis

FC Barcelona continued to achieve positive results in the trade and sponsorship sectors, as the club’s board of directors approved, during its meeting held yesterday, Thursday, a new sponsorship agreement with Lexar, a Chinese company specializing in digital storage solutions and affiliated with the Longsys group, in conjunction with the controversy raised by Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe in China regarding his recent statements about the late Chinese leader Mao Zedong.

In the same context, the Council approved the renewal of the partnership with Canon Medical, which provides for the supply of advanced medical equipment to the Ciutat Esportiva Sports City, including magnetic resonance imaging devices, in exchange for the company obtaining advertising rights across the club’s various assets.

On the financial level, the Board of Directors expressed its satisfaction with the club’s strong performance over the past months. The club explained in an official statement recording a positive trend in results until the end of last September, supported by the growth of commercial sector revenues, which include ticket sales, commercial products, museum visits, and sponsorship contracts, in addition to the positive financial impact resulting from the cancellation of an accounting provision following the issuance of a court ruling in favor of the club in its dispute with the tax authorities.

It is noteworthy that the Board of Directors meeting was scheduled to be held at the headquarters of the Diocese of Tarragona, but it was canceled due to the tragic train accident that occurred in the Urda region.

Regarding the club’s infrastructure and assets, the Board of Directors approved a budget of 5 million euros to begin renovation work on the “La Masia de Can Blanes” building during the current season. This is the building that has been a residence for academy players for many years, and it is planned to be transformed later to become the main headquarters of FC Barcelona.
