Sheffield United player collects $130,000 to support the children of Gaza

The English Sheffield United midfielder, Hamza Choudhury, succeeded in raising donations exceeding $130,000 (more than 100,000 pounds) for the benefit of children in the Gaza Strip, through a charitable event he organized in cooperation with the “Nojoom Sports” Foundation.

The proceeds from this initiative will be allocated to the “Children Not Numbers” organization, with the aim of providing urgent medical care and contributing to the evacuation of critical cases of children affected by the war abroad to receive treatment.

In a message through his official Instagram account, the Bangladeshi international player thanked all the participants and donors, stressing that this money will contribute directly to saving the lives of the most needy children.

Chaudhry (29 years old) stressed the humanitarian role of athletes and the importance of investing their fame in supporting just causes, warning that silence in the face of injustice is considered participation in its continuation.

It is noteworthy that Chaudhry had previously expressed his public solidarity with the Palestinian people, as he raised the Palestinian flag with his colleague Wesley Fofana after his former club, Leicester City, won the FA Cup in 2021.
