Al-Fouani: The Amal Movement refuses to trade Lebanon at any price and adheres to national constants

Beirut – Press release:

The head of the Executive Board of the Amal Movement, Dr. Mustafa Al-Fouani, confirmed that Lebanon is going through a very delicate stage that goes beyond the repercussions of the military attacks to affect its major national options, stressing the rejection of any direct negotiation with Israel, and adherence to national constants, resistance and sovereignty.

Al-Fouani’s statements came during a memorial celebration held in the Husseiniya of the town of Budai on the occasion of the three-day anniversary of the death of Nasri Shams, in the presence of a crowd of political, religious, security, military and social figures.

Al-Fouani considered that protecting sovereignty, adhering to resistance, reconstruction, and ensuring the return of people to their villages are rights that cannot be negotiated or politically bartered. Recalling the approach of Imam Sayyed Musa al-Sadr, he pointed out that resistance was born as an expression of rejection of injustice and occupation and the defense of land and people, calling for combining the option of resistance with strengthening internal unity and building a just state.

He explained that what Lebanon is being exposed to aims to impose new political and security realities that detract from its sovereignty, stressing “the refusal to negotiate directly with the Israeli enemy,” and emphasizing that any treatment must begin with stopping the aggression and complete Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Lebanese territories. He stressed that Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri continues to adhere to national principles to defend the rights of the Lebanese, warning against turning the ceasefire into a cover to perpetuate the occupation or impose conditions under threat.

Al-Fouani called for fortifying the internal front, avoiding disputes, and moving towards an inclusive Lebanese dialogue, considering that national unity and civil peace are the lifeline for Lebanon in the face of the current dangers. In the reconstruction file, he described it as a “national and human right,” calling on the state to come up with a clear plan to rehabilitate damaged infrastructure and homes, and to support farmers and business owners, stressing that balanced development in the Bekaa Valley is the state’s duty.

For his part, Hezbollah’s deputy Bekaa region official, Mr. Faisal Shukr, confirmed during the celebration that resistance remains an essential pillar of Lebanon’s strength in the face of an enemy that knows nothing but crime and occupation. Shukr called on state institutions to assume their responsibilities in reconstruction and securing the return of the people, revealing that Hezbollah had begun the second phase of providing shelter allowance for those who lost their homes, describing this as “the least duty towards the most honorable people.”
