The Bekaa Water Users and Workers Union announced its participation in the general strike scheduled for Wednesday, confirming the complete cessation of work and the closure of funds in all its departments, branches and centers.
The union explained in a statement that this protest step came in protest against the increasing economic pressures and the erosion of salaries and compensation, pointing to the inability of workers to continue in light of the extremely difficult living conditions.
The union warned of the “danger of social explosion” as a result of the insane rise in prices and its direct impact on the livelihood of workers.
