One person was killed and 13 others were injured, all of whom held Syrian nationality, after a van deteriorated and fell into a valley within the town of Ghalboun in the Jbeil district.
In a statement issued by it, the General Directorate of Lebanese Civil Defense explained that its members were mobilized to deal with the accident, as they used hydraulic shearing equipment and rescue ropes to reach the vehicle at the bottom of the valley and retrieve the victim and the wounded.
The Directorate indicated that the specialized teams provided first aid to the injured before transferring them to a number of hospitals to receive the necessary treatment, while the causes of the accident remain unknown until now, awaiting official investigations.
