The Israeli army announced, on Monday, that two separate incidents had occurred in southern Lebanon. The first resulted in two people being shot and approaching its forces, while the second witnessed the launching of an interceptor missile towards a suspicious air target.
In detail, the Israeli army spokeswoman, Ela Wawiyeh, stated that the forces operating in southern Lebanon spotted two people who entered what she described as the “security zone” and approached the location of the forces, adding that they were fired upon and “neutralized.” Wawiyeh confirmed that there were no casualties among the Israeli forces, noting that the incident is under investigation.
In a separate field development, Wawiyah reported that an interceptor missile was launched towards an air target that it described as “suspicious” after it was spotted in the area of Israeli forces’ operations in southern Lebanon. She explained that the details of this incident are still under examination, indicating that the sirens were not activated in line with established policy.
The military spokeswoman did not provide any additional details about the identity of the two people who were neutralized, or the nature of the intercepted air target, while official investigations into the circumstances of the two incidents continue.
