On the second anniversary of the assassination of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safi al-Din, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, affirmed the party’s firm commitment to the resistance approach, making supporting the Palestinian cause and liberating the occupied territories a top priority and a fundamental constant in the leadership’s work.
In a speech on this occasion, Qassem described Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah as an “international resistance leader” whose influence transcended the boundaries of geography, saying: “You left with your body, but your teachings remained, and the light remained for the giving that provides us with determination,” stressing that Nasrallah planted the flag of Palestine at the heart of the party’s march, so that it remains the permanent compass and the central goal of the resistance.
Qassem stressed that Nasrallah left a solid institutional and popular legacy represented in building “a party, resistance, and a stable and strong popular situation,” stressing that the martyrdom of leaders does not lead to stopping the path, but rather they are succeeded by leaders who continue to follow the same era.
Regarding the field situation, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah considered that the resistance succeeded in “stopping the aggression project” and preventing Israel from achieving its goals, noting that the occupation’s mobilization of about 90,000 soldiers and officers failed to break the will of the resistance. In response to opponents’ questions about the feasibility of resistance, Qasim asked: “What did the state do?”
He explained that the slogan “We are committed to the covenant” is practically embodied in continuing to support Palestine, working to completely liberate the occupied land, and preserving the trust of the martyrs, led by Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, vowing to continue confronting Israel until it is completely defeated from Lebanese lands.
Qassem concluded his speech by paying tribute to the souls of 3,400 male and female martyrs, and to the 14,600 wounded civilians and resistance fighters who fell during the “Battle of Oul al-Bass.”
