The organizing committee of the 27th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Championship confirmed that all preparations have been completed for the launch of the competitions hosted by the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from Wednesday until the sixth of next October, with the participation of 8 teams.
In the same context, the Secretary-General of the Saudi Football Federation, Majed Al-Sahib, confirmed that the Kingdom’s hosting of the tournament enjoys continuous support and follow-up, stressing the Federation’s keenness to provide all the necessary requirements to ensure the success of the event. He pointed out that the opening ceremony will witness a simplified cultural program that reflects the special character of the tournament and welcomes the participating teams and fans.
Al Sahib explained that work is being carried out in full coordination between the Saudi Federation, the Gulf Federation, and the organizing committee, in the spirit of one team and according to common goals, to provide a distinctive experience for the fans and delegations in Jeddah, pointing to the combined efforts of the various concerned parties to provide logistical support and the necessary facilities.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Football Association, Jassim Al-Rumaihi, stressed the integration of efforts between the Gulf Federation, its Saudi counterpart, and the organizing committee. With the aim of developing football in the region, enhancing the value of the tournament and preserving its status and privacy among the fans.
Al-Rumaihi expressed the federation’s continued efforts to develop its competitions, revealing a plan to expand the circle of participation in Gulf championships in the future, following the approval of the participation of teams from outside the Gulf federations in the U-17 championship, which included the teams of Egypt, Morocco and China.
Regarding the date and place of holding the 28th edition of the tournament, Al-Rumaihi stated that they will be determined after the meeting of the Executive Office of the Gulf Federation scheduled for September 28, with details to be announced as soon as the decision is issued and the procedures for hosting are completed.
