Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses recorded a growing record demand despite the criticism they faced, in a clear indication of the rapid acceleration of the market for wearable devices supported by artificial intelligence technologies.
A report issued by “Counterpoint Research” revealed a qualitative jump in shipments of smart glasses based on artificial intelligence by 263% on an annual basis during the first half of 2026. “Meta” maintains absolute dominance in the market, occupying about 94% of it, through “Ray-Ban” models and other versions affiliated with it.
The report indicated that smart glasses without screens account for the largest share at 96% of total shipments, while the share of models equipped with built-in screens does not exceed 4%, despite this sector recording a huge annual growth of 450%.
Geographically, North America leads the non-screen smart glasses market with a global share of 50%, while China emerges as a major and more active player in the market for models with built-in displays.
