Prime Minister Nawaf Salam is heading to the United States of America on a diplomatic tour that includes New York and Washington, to carry Lebanon’s political and economic files to international and American decision-making forums.
Salam will begin his visit by heading to New York to participate in the work of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, where he will deliver Lebanon’s speech before international leaders and officials participating in the meetings whose general discussion will be held during the period between September 22 and 26, to be completed on the 28 of the same month, to constitute an annual occasion through which countries present their positions and priorities.
On the sidelines of the international participation, the Prime Minister will hold a series of meetings and bilateral meetings with a number of state leaders and international officials.
After concluding his stop in New York, Salam will move to Washington, DC, to hold talks that combine the political and financial tracks. He is scheduled to meet with US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, along with the Director General of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, and the President of the World Bank Group, Ajay Banga, in addition to a number of other American and international officials.
