The General Directorate of Personal Status in the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities announced the opening of the Bint Jbeil Civil Registry in the Saraya Sidon building as an alternative and temporary centre, in light of the continuing Israeli attacks taking place in the southern Lebanese regions.
The Ministry explained, in an official statement, that this measure entered into force as of today, Thursday, September 17, 2026, out of its keenness to secure the interests of citizens and facilitate the completion of its administrative transactions in light of the current circumstances.
The statement indicated that the alternative center will ensure the continuity of work for personal status citizens affiliated with the Bint Jbeil Civil Registry, by following up on their transactions and issuing requests for their registration data, in accordance with the documents and capabilities available to the administration.
