The measures include secondary sanctions on five Iranian sectors: digital assets, technology, gold, aviation and shipping, in addition to suspending licenses that allowed some financial transfers to Iran.
The Treasury confirmed that it will accelerate the monitoring of parties that cooperate financially with Tehran, and will work to close potential sources of income for the Revolutionary Guard, warning that any country that helps convert Iranian oil into money will be subject to sanctions.
She said that the leaders of countries must choose “between America and Iran,” stressing that “no one is immune from American sanctions,” and that Tehran will not get any “breathing space” to reorganize itself.
She pointed out that the sanctions include companies and shadow ships in the Emirates, Hong Kong, Singapore and Switzerland.
She said: “The secondary sanctions will be very effective and will include Iran’s ‘terrorism and financing circles’.”
