Nawaf Salam honors Elias Khoury .. He calls his name to the National Library

Prime Minister Dr. Nawwaf Salam in the National Library – Al -Sanayeh sponsored the first anniversary of the departure of the novelist and the great writer Elias Khoury, in the presence of his friends, family and loved ones, on an occasion in which sadness mixed with recognition of the writer’s position in Lebanese and Arab literature.
At the honoring ceremony, President Salam handed the National Cedar Medal to the family of the late, which the President of the Republic granted to him, saying: “I am honored to hand this medal to the family of Elias, which is also my family.” Also, the Vice President of the American University in Beirut announced the allocation of an annual prize founded by the friends of the late writer, granted to outstanding students in the field of literature, in honor of the legacy of Khoury and the promotion of the desire to write Literary, in turn, the mayor of Beirut, Ibrahim Zaidan, announced the honor of Elias Khoury by giving his name to the public library in Al -Bashoura, which is run by the Al -Sabeel Association, a honor that reflects the great cultural contributions of the late and the local community’s keenness to keep his name alive in the memory of the literary capital, Beirut.
