The Algerian national team exited the 2026 World Cup in the round of 32, after losing to Switzerland with two unanswered goals, in a match in which the “Desert Warriors” did not show the required offensive effectiveness.

The Swiss team succeeded in imposing its style from the beginning of the match, benefiting from its defensive organization and speed in exploiting opportunities.

Brielle Embolo opened the scoring for Switzerland in the tenth minute of the first half, putting Algeria under early pressure.

With the start of the second half, Dan Ndoye increased the score with a second goal in the 46th minute, which made it difficult for the Algerian national team to return to the match.

With this victory, Switzerland reserved its place in the round of 16, where it awaits the winner of the confrontation between Ghana and Colombia, scheduled for Saturday morning in the round of 32 competitions.
