The Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, claimed through his account on the “X” platform that a number of American soldiers had been captured, accusing Washington of spreading false information about the extent of its losses.
Larijani stated, “A number of American soldiers have been captured, but they are promoting a misleading narrative claiming that five or six American soldiers were killed, and then, over time, they gradually raise the number of deaths under various pretexts, such as accidental incidents or fabricated facts.”
In a related context, Larijani confirmed earlier that Tehran will punish US President Donald Trump against the backdrop of the assassination of the Iranian leader, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, stressing that protecting Iranian national security requires a direct response to any attack launched from the region.
He added that Iran is determined to respond to the assassination of Khamenei, saying: “We will not leave Trump. He must pay the price. He caused the martyrdom of our leader and our people, and this is not a simple matter. We will not leave it until we respond in kind,” stressing that Iran “will relentlessly avenge the blood of its leader and its people.”
Larijani explained that any attack targeting Iran from bases in the region would face an immediate response, pointing out that responding to American and Israeli attacks is considered a legitimate right and an established policy.
He also pointed out that the countries of the region must prevent the United States from using their lands to attack Iran, otherwise Tehran will prevent this itself.
Larijani mocked Washington’s statements regarding the destruction of Iranian missile capabilities, considering that the Americans’ talk in this regard “is nothing but an expression of their hopes.”
He also responded to US President Donald Trump’s statements regarding choosing the next leader in Iran, describing them as “foolish statements,” stressing at the same time that there is no disagreement between Iranian officials about how to respond to American and Israeli attacks.
