Apple ignites prices again and announces new increases on... "MacBook Neo"

Apple has raised the price of its economical laptop computer, the MacBook Neo, in the US market by $50, in a move reinforced by the current challenges represented by high memory costs and a shortage in supplies of electronic components.

Under the new amendment, the price of the basic version equipped with a storage capacity of 256 GB rose to $650 for students, compared to $600 previously, bringing the total increase to $150 since the launch of the device at $500, noting that the company had raised its price by $100 last June.

Despite this increase, students and groups covered by educational discounts still enjoy a discount of $50 over the regular price of the device of $700. This announcement comes amid technical speculation that the pressures facing the semiconductor market and the shortage of memory supplies may continue in the coming years, despite the lack of an official comment from Apple explaining the reasons for adjusting prices.

In a related context, attention is turning towards the next generation of computers, amid leaks that expect it to be launched in March 2027, equipped with an “A19” processor, random memory with a capacity of up to 12 GB, in addition to new color options. On the other hand, the company has not yet officially confirmed the launch date of the new generation or its technical specifications, while the possibility of its price remaining possible in light of the continued rise in production costs.
