Member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP Hassan Fadlallah, confirmed that Hezbollah does not seek to challenge the state or enter into political disputes and debates, stressing that the party adopts a defensive stance in the face of Israeli threats, and bears responsibility and sacrifices in the absence of a state that bears its responsibilities towards the country’s security and destiny.
In his speech during a celebration honoring the martyrs of the resistance in the southern town of Tibnin, in the presence of figures, activists, and families of the martyrs, Fadlallah considered that Lebanon is run through “external dictates” transmitted by phone and communication applications, aiming to rob Lebanon of the elements of its power after the war and siege failed to eliminate the resistance, describing the internal bet on disarming the resistance under the title of exclusivity of weapons as “an illusion.”
Fadlallah accused parties in power of taking “unjust measures and invalid decisions under direct American dictation” to implement agendas aimed at destroying the country, stressing that the resistance, which represents a wide segment of the Lebanese people, will not give up its principles and will not allow its arms to be twisted, considering that the party does not confront the state but rather confronts the policies of some people in power who are subject to foreign tutelage.
Fadlallah rejected the decisions taken against the resistance on March 2, questioning the benefit of straining the internal atmosphere. Regarding the issue of stopping a truck, he pointed out that transporting weapons to support the front is a normal thing and does not take place with bags of potatoes, warning some official agencies and employees against following American dictates or trying to present credentials to the American embassy.
Regarding the issue of the displaced and reconstruction, Fadlallah explained that the joint committee between Hezbollah and the Amal Movement urges the government to carry out its responsibilities towards citizens in shelter and restoration, stressing that what the party is doing comes as a moral and legal obligation towards its people and does not exempt the state from its duties, stressing that the announced steps to support steadfastness are on their way despite skepticism and American pressure.
