The suspended olive season in Kfar Shuba: The occupation deprives farmers of harvesting their crops

Today, Thursday, an Israeli military force prevented a number of farmers from the town of Kfar Shuba from continuing the olive harvest in the areas of Azrael and Bastra, in the wake of a continuing military escalation hitting several areas in southern Lebanon.

The National News Agency reported that the confrontation took place immediately after the farmers entered their lands to complete the harvesting work, as the Israeli force demanded that they immediately withdraw and stop any agricultural activity in the place.

This incident coincides with a widespread wave of attacks carried out by Israeli forces since dawn today, which included artillery shelling targeting the towns of Al-Mansouri, the Al-Arayesh neighborhood in Haris, Wadi Al-Salouqi in the Majdal Salim area, in addition to the Aita Al-Jabal forest and the outskirts of Baraashit. Sweeping operations with machine guns were also recorded, targeting the outskirts of Hadatha, Haris, and Wadi Al-Hujair.

In the same field context, the areas of Doha Kafr Rumman, Tallet al-Dabsha, and the outskirts of Kafr Tibnit were subjected to dawn artillery shelling, accompanied by sweeping operations with heavy machine guns towards the eastern town of Zawtar.

Before midnight, Israeli warplanes launched a series of air strikes, two of which targeted the town of Al-Mansouri, while other raids targeted Wadi Al-Hujair and the outskirts of Kafr Tibnit.

This field escalation increases the suffering of the people of the border villages, depriving them of access to their lands and the olive harvest season, which represents an economic mainstay and a primary source of income for families in the region, amid continuing obstacles imposed by military operations.
