Ezz El-Din opens fire: The framework agreement is a conspiracy targeting the homeland

Member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP Sheikh Hassan Ezz El-Din, attacked the political path adopted by the Lebanese state in approaching the relationship with Israel, criticizing the “Framework Agreement” and the American role in the negotiations, and considering that this path gives Israel free gains at the expense of national sovereignty. In parallel, he held the government responsible for immediate action in the file of reconstructing the south and sheltering the displaced, stressing that allocating $300 million would be enough to return about 50,000 families to their homes.

Ezz El-Din’s positions came during a ceremony honoring Hezbollah for Messrs. Hassan Nasrallah, Hashem Safi El-Din, and the leaders Muhammad Sakafi and Mahmoud Shaheen in the town of Kafarsir, where he praised the characteristics of the martyrs and the honesty and sincerity they enjoyed, may God reward them with high status.

Ezzedine considered that Lebanon has been waging an ongoing confrontation for decades with Israel, which by nature is based on aggression and displacement. He criticized the political authority’s resort to direct and indirect negotiations that did not result in any ceasefire or military operations, but rather led to the signing of the “Framework Agreement,” which he considered a concession granting Israel freedom of movement and legitimization of existence in exchange for nothing, describing the political authority in this context as “conspiring against the nation and its sovereignty.”

He pointed out that political circles confirm Washington’s insistence on making the “Framework Agreement” the sole reference for relations under direct American supervision, which means canceling previous international agreements, starting with the Armistice Agreement of 1949 and ending with UN Resolution 1701. He explained that the American refusal to deploy alternative forces to UNIFIL, and the push towards establishing a joint operations room in Naqoura between the Lebanese and Israeli armies under the supervision of American officers, aim to remove any international witness to Israeli crimes and blow up institutions. The international community is in favor of Washington’s reference, which is completely biased towards Israel.

Regarding internal affairs, Ezz El-Din touched on Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s visit to the south, considering that laying the foundation stone for civil defense and the civil meeting are positive steps but do not address the essence of the crisis. He stressed that the alleys of the south and its people are waiting for a serious stance and moral responsibility from the state that collects taxes and is supposed to provide services, calling on the government to assume its responsibility towards reconstruction and sheltering the displaced.

Ezz El-Din stressed that providing $300 million is not an impossible figure for a country like Lebanon, pointing out that allocating this money is enough to begin renovating homes and returning about 50,000 displaced families to their villages, and expressing his regret that the government budget is devoid of any serious approach to the issues of reconstruction and shelter, which constitute a national responsibility that should not be ignored.
