The Tobacco and Tobacco Administration raises support amid the start of a positive season in northern Lebanon

Today, the process of purchasing tobacco and tobacco crops was launched in the northern region, organized by the Lebanese Tobacco and Tobacco Exclusive Administration (Regie), amid an atmosphere of satisfaction prevailing among farmers regarding the approved prices and the delivery mechanism.

The Regie explained in an official statement that crop receipt operations are being carried out through three centers affiliated with the Tripoli Foundation, and are scheduled to continue for a month and a half.

In the same context, the head of the Agriculture and Purchasing Department in the North, Dr. Muhammad Kabbara, confirmed that the first day of the season recorded “satisfactory” results for the farmers who came to deliver their produce, praising the fair increase in prices approved by the administration.

Kabbara pointed out that the Regie had adopted a stimulus package that included providing additional financial assistance for each kilogram, in addition to raising the transportation allowance for each bale, in order to alleviate the living burdens resulting from the wave of high prices.

Kabbara attributed these steps to the directives of the Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager, Eng. Nassif Saqlawi, stressing the administration’s commitment to supporting farmers and considering them as essential partners in the process of sustainable rural development.
