Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nabih Berri, received, at the headquarters of the Second Presidency in Ain al-Tineh, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, where the two sides held a meeting that focused on discussing political and field developments, and ways to address the pressing social and economic conditions that Lebanon is suffering from.
The electricity crisis issue topped the discussions between the two sides, where it was emphasized the necessity of reaching a radical and final solution to this vital issue, by studying the option of the build, operate and transfer (BOT) system, or concluding an international Lebanese agreement that would completely resolve this crisis.
The meeting also touched on the results of the diplomatic visits conducted by the Prime Minister to the United States of America, in addition to Salam’s recent tour in the city of Nabatieh and the development projects he launched during it.
In a related context, the Speaker of Parliament continued his official meetings, where he received the Governor of the Bank of Lebanon, Karim Saeed, and discussed with him the general conditions, especially the financial ones, in light of the current economic challenges.
On another level, Berri received the President of the Industrialists Association, Salim Al-Zaani, in the presence of Rabah Jaber, and learned from him about the reality of the industrial sector in the country, as well as the association’s work plans and programs for the current and future stages.
