The presence of Hezbollah overshadows the meeting with King Abdullah and Rubio, and the file of disarmament is at the top of the table

During a phone call yesterday with Jordanian King Abdullah II, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed the issue of disarming Hezbollah, in addition to a number of prominent bilateral and regional issues.

The statement issued by the American side explained that the call dealt with the mechanisms for implementing the “tripartite framework” in Lebanon, as well as ways to enhance stability in Syria, and developments in the situation in the region.

At the conclusion of the call, the US Secretary of State expressed his appreciation for Jordan’s consistent role and the efforts it is making to enhance regional security and stability.
