Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called on the United States to “liberate itself from the restrictions of the Israeli lobby,” stressing that the latter was now openly asserting its role and influence in directing American policy toward Tehran.
Araqchi’s statements came on the “X” platform, in response to an article published by “Israel Hayom” newspaper, which is owned by Miriam Adelson, and he considered it to represent “the voice of this lobby.” He expressed his belief that American policy should bear Washington the cost of any aggression or insult against Israel, adding: “It is time for Washington to be free from these restrictions.”
In a related context, the Iranian minister accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – whom he described as a “snake” – of deceiving US President Donald Trump, and of “his whispering” to drag the United States into a military confrontation with Iran. He pointed out that Netanyahu adopts two speeches: In Hebrew, he brags about deceiving the American administration and leading it to war on behalf of Israel, and his influence on American policy through extensive media appearances, while in English he praises the leadership capabilities of the American president.
This escalation in Iranian rhetoric comes at a time when the region is experiencing unprecedented military tension, coinciding with US President Donald Trump’s announcement that he is close to making a decisive decision regarding two options: either launching a large-scale military action that “wipes out Iran,” or taking an alternative path to end the conflict. These developments coincide with the continuation of the American economic campaign represented by the “Operation Economic Exclusion” against Tehran, and the continuation of mutual attacks in the Strait of Hormuz since last February.
