The head of IDAL discussed with the Industrialists Association in the Bekaa the promotion of investments

Majed Mneimneh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Corporation for the Promotion of Investments in Lebanon (IDAL), received a delegation from the Industrialists Association in the Bekaa, headed by Nicolas Abu Faisal, and the membership of Hussein Kodmani and Habib Geagea, in the presence of full-time Board Member Abbas Ramadan, the Foundation’s legal advisor, Walid Hanna, and the Director of Information and Promotion, Lina Fakhoury.

According to a statement, the meeting constituted “an opportunity to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between IDAL and the industrialists’ association in the Bekaa, especially in the areas of encouraging investments in the Bekaa region and developing industrial exports, in a way that contributes to supporting the industrial sector in this vital region, which has promising potential in various productive and industrial fields.”

Mneimneh reviewed the incentives and facilities provided by the corporation to industrial investors, especially in priority production sectors, and the role of the “one-stop shop” in simplifying procedures and accelerating the pace of completing transactions.

For its part, the delegation of the Industrialists Association presented the most prominent challenges facing the industrial sector in the Bekaa, foremost of which is the need to facilitate administrative and customs procedures, develop infrastructure, and support industrial exports to foreign markets, while emphasizing the importance of continuous coordination with “IDAL” to overcome obstacles standing in the way of investors and industrialists in the region.

The attendees stressed “the importance of activating joint cooperation between IDAL and the Industrialists Association, which contributes to stimulating industrial investments in the Bekaa, creating new job opportunities, and enhancing the ability of industrial producers to compete in local and foreign markets, which will reflect positively on economic development in the region and support the economic recovery process in Lebanon.”
