About 40 oil tankers entered and exited the Strait of Hormuz on Friday night, while approximately 16 million barrels left the Gulf, according to what Axios reported, citing three American officials.
The tankers took the southern corridor run by the United States along the Omani coast, after the crossing rate during the previous nights ranged between 15 and 20 tankers.
The toll from one night does not confirm the sustainable return of navigation to normal levels, as about 20 million barrels of oil and its derivatives crossed the strait daily before the war.
On a separate course, Iran allowed the passage of a number of tankers loaded with Iraqi oil after requests from Baghdad. Tehran said that the permits came after discussions conducted by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf during his recent visit to Iraq.
