The “Lebanon Debate” correspondent reported that the Israeli army handed over, today, Sunday, the body of the Lebanese Roger Khalil Abu Rahal, from the town of Qulaia in the Marjayoun district, to the International Committee of the Red Cross, which in turn handed him over to the Lebanese Red Cross, with the support of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
According to the reporter, the handover process took place at the Naqoura border point, before the body was transported to complete the necessary procedures and hand it over to his family.
Abu Rahal resided within the occupied Palestinian territories, and formerly belonged to what was known as the “Lahad Army.” He died last year, before his body was transported today to the Lebanese side via Naqoura.
The handover of the body comes within the framework of the existing coordination through the International Committee of the Red Cross and UNIFIL in the humanitarian files related to the transfer of bodies between the two sides.
