Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi met with a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP Hassan Fadlallah, in a meeting that discussed developments in Lebanon and the region, in light of the continuing Israeli attacks and escalating regional tensions.
According to what was reported by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, Araqchi praised “the honorable resistance and steadfastness of the Lebanese people in the face of the brutal Israeli attacks,” reiterating Tehran’s position in support of Lebanon.
For his part, Fadlallah expressed his appreciation for the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Lebanese people, considering that Iranian diplomacy contributed to “consolidating Iran’s power,” and that this power constitutes, in his words, “a source of pride for its friends.”
Fadlallah stressed the need for Islamic countries to take a “unified and firm stance” in confronting what he described as “the ambitions of the Zionist entity,” in light of the developments taking place in the region and the continuation of Israeli operations on more than one front.
The meeting comes at a time when Tehran is intensifying its diplomatic movements and contacts in light of regional tension, while continuing to emphasize its support for Lebanon in the face of Israeli attacks.
Araghchi’s position also comes in the context of the Iranian political and diplomatic escalation towards Israel, in parallel with the increasing American pressure on Tehran and the threat of more economic measures, at a time when Iran confirms its adherence to its regional positions and continued support for its allies.
