Crude oil shipments from the Middle East have begun to flow again to the United States after being halted due to the Iran war.
According to Kpler data, at least 9 million barrels of oil from the Middle East are heading to American ports during August, which is a significant increase compared to previous months, but it is still equivalent to about half of the average flows that preceded the outbreak of the war.
The shipments include quantities of oil that were released during the temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran in June, when the return of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz allowed for several weeks to increase crude flows, in addition to shipments through what is known as the Shuttle Trade, which allowed Gulf producers to continue transporting oil despite restrictions on navigation in the Strait.
