The Russian ruble fell against major currencies, after the Russian Central Bank raised the official exchange rates for the dollar, euro, and yuan for the period extending from August 15 to 17.
The Central Bank set the dollar exchange rate at 84.5449 rubles, an increase of 73.91 kopecks over the previous official rate, which reflects the decline in the value of the ruble against the US currency.
The euro exchange rate also rose by 76.03 kopecks, reaching 97.5141 rubles.
The rise also included the Chinese yuan, as its exchange rate increased by 6.14 kopecks, to 12.4789 rubles.
The new official prices reflect the decline in the value of the ruble against major currencies, with an increase in the number of rubles required to buy the dollar, euro and yuan.
