The difficult hours that a lone citizen lived on the outskirts of Nabatieh, amid raids, shelling, and water and food shortages, turned into a humanitarian evacuation operation carried out by the Red Cross, which ultimately brought him to his family outside the city.
A team from the Red Cross in the Nabatieh Center carried out a humanitarian operation during which they were able to evacuate the citizen Jamal Bitar, 68 years old, from his home near the Ali Al-Taher area on the outskirts of Nabatieh.
Bitar was trapped alone inside his house, while his surroundings were subjected to two Israeli air strikes and artillery shelling, while he suffered from a shortage of water and food supplies.
The Red Cross team was able to reach him and evacuate him from the house, before transporting him outside Nabatieh, where his family received him.
The operation comes in light of the security conditions taking place in areas in southern Lebanon, and the challenges it poses to the survival of civilians in areas exposed to raids and bombing.
