The US Embassy in Lebanon affirmed that the United States stands with the Lebanese people in their march towards a more stable and prosperous future, on the occasion of the United States’ celebration of the 250th anniversary of its independence.

The embassy said, in a statement, that this occasion is not limited to reviving the founding principles on which the United States was founded, but also constitutes an opportunity to celebrate the solid friendship relations that brought Washington together with a number of countries, most notably Lebanon.

She added: “This year, as the United States commemorates the 250th anniversary of its independence, we celebrate not only the founding principles that define us, but also our enduring friendships that have shaped our nation’s history.”

The embassy stressed that the United States stands “with great pride alongside the Lebanese people as they make their way toward a brighter future, a future that holds peace, prosperity, and long-awaited promises.”

This message comes at a critical stage that Lebanon is witnessing at the political, economic, and security levels, as Washington continues to declare its support for Lebanese institutions, especially the Lebanese army, in addition to its support for economic reforms and the strengthening of state institutions. Over the past years, the United States has also played a prominent role in a number of Lebanese files, including demarcating maritime borders, supporting stabilization efforts in the south, and providing humanitarian and economic aid, within the framework of a policy that confirms, according to American officials, Washington’s commitment to Lebanon’s stability and strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
